About

I work as a Senior Lecturer in the Medical Education discipline for the College of Medicine and Dentistry at James Cook University.

I teach communication skills, cultural and linguistically diverse population groups, and health behaviour and behaviour change, stress and coping in first year of the Bachelor of Medicine. As well as across other years teach challenging patients and what to do about them (year 3) and leadership development (year 6).

In the postgraduate Masters of Health Professional Education, and Masters of Rural and Remote Health I teach leadership, negotiation and conflict resolution.

I coordinate the Home Group program across years 1 to 3 (Medicine). The program provides an avenue for small group facilitated social, professional, and academic development. Further to this, I co-coordinate both the Health Self-Professional Self Care Program (College) and the Professionalism Education and Leadership Program (Medicine), as well as Chair the Maggie Grant Leadership Program for our Student Clubs (College).
