Siggi Gudergan is known for his work on business innovation, transformation and performance, an area of expertise that he leads as Professor of Strategy within James Cook University in Australia. He also is a Visiting Distinguished Professor at Aalto University in Finland, Visiting Professor at Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien) in Austria, and Emeritus Professor at the University of Waikato in New Zealand.
He earned a PhD in Management from the Australian Graduate School of Management which was awarded jointly by the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales in Australia. He also holds a degree in Business and Economics from RWTH-Aachen University in Germany.
His research has been published in leading management, strategy, and marketing journals, has gained international recognition, and has been taken up in industry. He has secured funding for his research from several sources, including Australian Research Council Discovery and Linkage grants, as well as industry, totaling over $4 million. Some of his PhD students have won awards from the Academy of Management and Strategic Management Society, and now work at universities in Europe and Australia, including Go8 institutions. He holds various board and professional roles, and has consulted to or worked with a broad range of organisations, from start-ups to large multinational companies.
