About

Dr Kane Langdon is a clinical lecturer at the James Cook University College of Medicine and Dentistry, based at the clinical school in Cairns, Far North Queensland.

He graduated with Distiction from James Cook University Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery in 2021. During these undergraduate studies, Kane additionally completed a Bachelor of Medical Science (Hons) where he leveraged helminth secretomic research to investigate novel therapeutics in an animal model of rheumatoid arthritis. Subsequently in 2023, he completed a Master of Cancer Sciences with First Class Honours from the University of Melbourne, utilising data linkage techiques to study state wide population dynamics and outcomes for patients suffering from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.

With the support of an Avant Early Career Researcher Program Grant, his current research is a collaboration with the University of Melbourne focused on establishing a state wide dataset of all patients suffering from haematological malignancies to further improve our understanding and treatment of these diseases.
