About

I graduated in medicine at Monash University in 1972 and then worked as a doctor in Queensland and the Northern Territory getting half way through an anaesthetics fellowship and doing some work in Aboriginal Health before changing career and studying and then teaching mathematics at JCU. My research interests in mathematics have all had a medical angle and include a strabismus model (for my PhD), modelling the dynamics of infectious diseases, particularly AIDS and most recently I have focussed on medical statistics.  In 1998 I resumed my medical career but continue to have a research interest in mathematics and statistics.
